Sales & Business Development Manager

  

Job Description: 

The Sales and Business Development Manager at Transducer Works (Vermon Group) in State College PA, is responsible for developing and supporting North American customers in alignment with the company’s business and marketing plan. The key focus will be selling standard ultrasound transducer products, securing ultrasound transducer development projects and building customer relationships that result in ongoing production sales. In support of attaining the company’s revenue goals, the ideal candidate will be market savvy, capable of identifying/building relationships with new customers and able to maximize the sales derived from the existing customers. The Sales and Business Development Manager will be responsible for understanding the technical capabilities of the product development team, the technical features of all of the products and also must be able to effectively promote the company’s capabilities to the customer.

Job Duties:

Interface with all new contacts and leads to understand the customer requests and requirements

Promote the sale of standard products where applicable

Work with new contacts to match the company’s capabilities to the requested product requirements

Support the product development process by facilitating customer communication

Understand the customers business model and product requirements to create a ROI for each project

Involve engineering to support technical discussions

Work with engineering to create customer quotes

Communicate quotes to customers and follow up until the order is secure

Create quotes for follow on development efforts as the project moves from Verification through Validation to Production

Respond to all customer phone calls and emails in a timely manner.

Utilize the CRM tool to input and manage business opportunities

Update the CRM tool with all necessary details through the product development process

Maintain the customer relationships after the development process to understand and create an annual revenue forecast

Visiting customers as necessary

Participate in professional conferences.

Attend sales meetings

 

Required Qualifications:

Degree in a technical or business discipline

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales/Business Development, knowledge of medical industry or medical device using ultrasound is a plus

Interest and ability to learn the scientific principles and technology of the products.

Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process.

Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex issues into simple messages.
